METAL SNAPS AND PLASTIC SNAPS USED ON SPITFIRE
CONVERTIBLE TOPS
Earlier tops, probably through earlier mk.3 models, were secured with metal snaps, and then Triumph
switched to plastic snaps.  Some of us Triumph people cursed this move, as we thought then that plastic snaps
cheapened the cars.  Later, some of found that the plastic snaps fitted tighter and didn't rattle.  Yes, they
sometimes broke, but gradually, we got the feel for using them, and they didn't break very often.  You can use
metal or plastic.  Take your pick...
