LUCAS MODEL 17ACR ALTERNATORS
Please Note:
Lucas Model 17ACR alternators were fitted to U.S.
TR6 models during the 1971 and 1972 model years, from
comm. no. CC65347 up to CF1. The alternators which were
fitted officially are listed below, but individual cars may have
been fitted with other 17ACR alternators, either at the factory or
as later replacements. If it is possible, you should start with the
Lucas part number of an alternator needing repair. The Lucas
part number is found on an aluminium tag fixed to the body of
the alternator next to the plastic rear cover, but these tags are
often removed from rebuilt alternators. If the alternator in hand
has a different part number from those listed below or if you are
unable to determine the part number, call The Roadster Factory
for assistance. The best course of action for most individual
enthusiasts is to fit a rebuilt alternator of the correct specification
for the model and year of the car.
