gearbox may be identified by the following characteristics.
See Section CM for a full discussion of these characteristics.
1.
Input gear utilizes pressed-in needle bearing.
2.
First-speed countershaft gear has sixteen teeth.
3.
All mainshaft gears have asymmetrical dog teeth.
4.
Bushes inside first, second, and third gears are
bronze rather than steel.
5.
Both synchronizer sleeves will have straight grooves to
accommodate the smaller dog teeth on mainshaft gears.
6.
All gears have the earlier tooth profile on meshing teeth.
