CARBURETTOR IDENTIFICATION CHECKLIST
· Metal tags attached to top cover screws should read
C3508LH
and
C3508RH.
· Locate slanted pipes for attaching breather hoses on
front sides of both carbs in close to manifold.
· Locate horizontal breather attachment pipes on rear sides
of both carbs close to air cleaner faces.
· Locate fitting for installing suction pipe underneath
rear carb on mounting flange.
· There will be no vacuum fittings on top of inner
mounting flange.
· There are no vacuum fittings on bypass valves.
· Bypass valves are adjustable as indicated by small
adjusting screws in centers.
· Identification characters stamped on air cleaner faces
should be
T436A
and
T437A.
· Locate brass-bushed vent hole in air cleaner face.
· Check cold start valves; cams will be stamped
SRZ,
and bodies will be marked
AB.
· Locate vent levers on rear sides of carbs
steel rather than die-cast as on later carbs.
· These carbs are easily identified by the above checklist,
but the surest way is to retain the identification tags.
