CARBURETTOR IDENTIFICATION CHECKLIST
· Metal tags attached to top cover screws should read
C3150LH
and
C3150RH
. Numbers may also be stamped
on bottom of manifold flange.
· Metering needles are non-adjustable.
· There are no breather hose connections on these carburettors.
· Locate fitting on upper side of front carb on manifold flange
for attaching vacuum pipe to distributor vacuum advance unit.
· Locate vacuum valve mounted under front carb on bell crank
support bracket. Valve includes fitting for attaching vacuum
pipe to distributor vacuum retard unit.
· Bypass valves may or may not be adjustable, and there are
vacuum fittings on the tops of both bypass valves for attaching
to pipes running to manifold and vacuum control valve.
· Identification characters stamped onto air cleaner faces may be
232T
and
233T
, although we have seen carbs without any
characters marked in this position.
· Vent hole in air cleaner face does not have an inset brass bush.
· Check cold start valves; cams will be stamped
SRZ

TRZ
, or
TR
; and bodies will be marked
B
or
AB
.
· Plugs in bottoms of float chambers will be flat with single
screwdriver slots.
· Identifying individual model 175CD-2SE can be tricky, and
the surest method is to retain the metal identification tags.
