SEAT FRAMES AND SEAT SLIDES
“Seat Frames and Seat Slides Get Bent and Rusted. Fortunately,
New Replacements are Available”
Both seats found in the TR2 were fixed. Neither seat was hinged to allow access to
the area behind the front seats. As the TR2 did not have provisions for a jump seat, that
probably wasn't a problem. At commission number TS8637, the beginning of
production of the small mouth TR3, the passenger's seat was a folding type, and that
feature carried through to the TR3A. The driver's seat was still fixed, likely to provide
a stiffer seat for more support in cornering. Some enthusiasts prefer to fit the folding
seat to the driver's side to ease the use of the tonneau cover when uncovering the
driver's side only.
