WIRING HARNESSES, TR2, TR3
A new harness, whichever one you choose for your application, will solve a
multitude of electrical problems caused by corroded terminals, bad grounds, burned
wires, and outright butchering by previous owners. Your new harness is colour-coded
as original, and it will include most or all terminals and fittings. Original harnesses
were cloth-wrapped up to comm. no. TS60000, and some may have been vinyl wrapped
after that point, but most lacquered wires had disappeared by then.
Keep your old harness, and make notes about how it was routed, what grommets
are used, etc. Match your new harness to it as well as you can, noting any potential
problems and insuring that you have received the correct new harness for your car.
We suggest wiring the center dash with the small gauges and switches installed.
Then you drop the harness through the opening in the dash and extend each wiring
group to its assigned location. Install rubber grommets at the same time as the harness,
otherwise, you will have to cut them.
