FRONT HUB BEARING KITS
Replacing front bearings and seals is an easy job, although it requires
removal of the brake caliper. Note that you may often get by without breaking
the hydraulic connection. If so, you can leave the caliper hanging on its hose
and tie it back out of the way with a bit of wire. While the hub is off, however,
you can take the opportunity of checking the brake disc and replacing the brake
pads. Bearing races may be knocked out of the hub with a steel drift rod, but it
is better to use a brass rod for installation to avoid damaging the new races.
