Actually, they make the job possible, as you will not be able to install your
gearbox, unless the splines on the driven plate align with the pilot bush in the
rear of the crankshaft. You can use an old gearbox input shaft if you happen to
have one, but it is a lot easier to use one of TRF's inexpensive plastic
alignment tools. You can use it again and again, and you will only have to
make this little investment one time...
