CARBURETTOR REBUILDING
--SU CARBS, 1963-74
Using the components listed in this section, you can rebuild your SU carbs
to brand new condition. If you haven't worked on carbs before, you should
purchase the Haynes workshop manual listed a couple of sections further on. If
you don't have time to learn all of the skills involved, you can send your carbs
to C.A.R. Components at The Roadster Factory, where we offer complete
rebuilds or just rebushing. The reason for re-bushing is that worn carb bodies
allow air to enter around the throttle shafts. This makes it impossible to adjust
air/fuel ratios. Rebushing requires special knowledge to keep the bushes
aligned. C.A.R. Components can rebush your carbs quickly, and they will be
returned with new throttle shafts. Ask your salesperson about rebushing and
also about complete rebuilding.
