"Repair Panels Can Save You Money in Two Ways"
British Motor Heritage owns all of the existing MGB factory body tooling,
which covers almost every component required to make complete body shells
for all model variations, except for certain items where earlier tooling was
modified to make components of later specification. There were even a few
factory repair panels, and these are still offered by British Motor Heritage.
Nevertheless, a second company appeared in the 1990's, making smaller repair
sections and some reproduction body panels. Smaller repair sections can save
you money in two ways, first by costing a lot less than a complete original body
panel and second by requiring less labor for installation. British Motor Heritage
realized these advantages, and it acquired rights to all of the repair panels
previously offered. In addition to repair panels, this line of parts also includes
some parts no longer available from original tooling because of tooling
modifications. Main floor panels for early cars with 3-synchro gearboxes fall
into this category. We are listing most of these repair panels and reproduction
panels on this page and the following pages. A few reproduction panels were
listed previously among the original parts, as this made a more logical
arrangement.
