The Roadster Factory
LUCAS BATTERIES, MGB, MGB-GT, 1962-74
Early MGB models took two six-volt
batteries originally. Many cars have been
changed to one twelve-volt battery, but if you
want to keep your car original, or if you want to
return to originality, TRF provides genuine Lucas
six-volt batteries made specifically for early
MGB models. Batteries are shipped dry for
obvious reasons, and they must be filled with
fresh battery acid which you can purchase at
local auto parts stores.

BATTERY HOLD-DOWN COMPONENTS
It is important that batteries be fixed in their boxes in a secure manner, as
moving batteries can create dangerous sparks and sudden weight shifts during
hard cornering could cause an accident. For autocross and most other racing
events, tech inspectors insist on secure batteries. Using components identical to
those provided on the car when it was new is the easiest way to keep your
battery mounted properly.
