"Rubber Pad Fits Over Reinforcement Tubes in Trunk Lids and Bonnets"
An old friend, Ron Gordon of Gaithersburg, Maryland, is a perfectionist, and I have made many
little parts at his suggestion. This pad is one of these. I was familiar with the pad from later TR3A
and TR3B models, after comm. no. TS60000. They are cemented on the underside of the trunk lid over
the reinforcement tubes to keep the trunk lid skin from rattling against the tubes. I found out later that
these same pads appear on early Spitfire (mks. 1, 2, 3) trunk lids for the same purpose and also on all
Spitfire and GT6 bonnets, where they are cemented to the sheet metal over the bonnet supports. This is
a little part, but it has given pleasure to Ron Gordon and to me. You can buy these now from stock...
