ELECTRICAL TUNE-UP
PREMIUM IGNITION WIRE SETS--Continued
For later models, TRF has been manufacturing its own wire sets for many years
in cable with green insulation as used by British Leyland on cars in the 1970's.  The
green wires are suppression type, and we prefer stranded copper wires for TR2, TR3,
TR4, and TR4A, but we used the same manufacturer, and we have now produced
proper wire sets for the classic TR models.  At the same time, we manufactured
more green cable and reordered stock of green wires for TR250, TR6, GT6, Spitfire,
and later MGB.  All of these wire sets are of very nice quality with tight fitting
rubber boots to exclude water and prevent arcing and with correct terminals.

PREMIUM IGNITION WIRE SETS
MANUFACTURED FOR TRF
"Correct Wire Sets for TR2, TR3, TR4, TR4A, TR250,
TR6, Spitfire, GT6"
During autumn 2008, I drove my TR3A cross country to attend Triumphest, a
Triumph sports car event in California.  On the trip, my ignition wires began arcing,
and I had to install my old cap and wires which I was carrying in the trunk.  The
failed wires had been supplied by a quality manufacturer of British parts.  My old
wires had been manufactured to my own specs by a company which had gone out of
business.  I learned at Triumphest that a TR4 enthusiast had a similar problem with
a wire set he had purchased from me.  I immediately stopped selling that wire set,
and we set out to manufacture new wire sets of our own.
ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE REFERENCE
BOOK, TR250, TR6
The book listed in this section is an excellent reference
book on the electrical systems of the TR250, and TR6
models.
It was written by Triumph enthusiast Dan Masters and
it is a book that every TR250 or TR6 owners should have.
We refer to it almost daily at TRF.  Wiring diagrams are
included for each model between 1968 and 1976, and are
much better than the factory diagrams found in the shop
manuals.
