TRF has been purchasing TR6
replica fuel pumps from an Italian
company for many years, and we have
had great success with them.  The price
is higher than other pumps on the
market, but the Italian pumps do not
leave customers stranded by the side of
the road, a common event with the
cheaper pumps.  Now, we have
convinced the Italian manufacturer to
make the pump used on the four-cylinder TR's.  These are quite identical to original
pumps, and they can be rebuilt with an original fuel pump repair kit.

Most currently available fuel pump kits are questionable to me and to our shop.
First of all, the metal flanges on the diaphragms are upside down.  That may be
correct for some other pump, but it is not correct for the models listed above.  It
might work for a while, but it is upside down.  In addition, we question the material
from which the diaphragms are made.  TRF kits have high-quality diaphragms with
the flanges as they should be. Then there are the valves.  We don't like the valves
either, and we buy high-quality valves elsewhere for our kits.  Finally, no kits but
our own include the oil seals on the shaft of the diaphragm.  Do you want fuel in
your oil?  Probably, not, and neither do we.  Therefore, we have had the seals
manufactured, and we include them in our kits.  Those are the differences, and they
are the reasons that our kit costs more.  I sell at the lowest prices I can, but I won't
sell junk to have a low price.
