GENUINE ENGLISH FUSES
“TRF Fuses Still Have the Paper Labels Inside”
English fuses are rated differently from American fuses,
and American fuses are not compatible with classic English
electrical systems.  Lucas discontinued its fuses years ago, and
in desperation, I contacted them, offering to buy one-hundred-
thousand fuses if they would make them for me.  They declined
to make them, but they did give me the name of the source that
they had used.  By this time, the colour-coded labels printed
with the Lucas name and the amperage of the fuse had long
since been discontinued, and a transparent label was affixed to
the outside of the glass tube.  The manufacturer has done a good
job for us, however, although they attempted to change the
design at one point.  In the end, they have continued to provide traditional fuses
that even have paper labels inside.  Regrettably, they no longer say "Lucas," and
they are not colour coded anymore.  The good thing is that they work in our British
cars, and they come in a range of amperages.  Thirty-five amps was standard for all
the fuses in most classic Triumphs and MGs.

POSITIVE BATTERY CABLES, TR6, TR7
The earlier TR6 cable is a new old stock version made for TRF years ago by
Rists, the section of Lucas that made auto body wiring.  The later cables for TR6
and TR7 come with the red rubber boots as original, and these replicas are made
especially for TRF.  All make perfect replacements for factory originals.
