“Renold Timing Chains Last
Longer Because They Are
Made to Last”
Triumph always used Renold,
but I am not sure about MG.  I am
listing them anyway, as I feel sure
that MGB enthusiasts also want the
insurance of putting the best parts
into their engine rebuilds.
Renold is better because it is made better.  The rollers do not wear out as fast, as
they are made in the round, while other chains use rollers made of U-shaped stock
which is bent into the round.  Renold chains are also designed not to stretch over
long periods of use.  In addition, Renold chains do not have a master link.  Instead,
all chains are made specifically for the models to which they apply.  TRF has had
customers in the past who purchased non-Renold chains from other suppliers and
then came to us for Renold when the chains they used stretched over a short time.  It
is a lot of work changing a timing chain.  Consider the use of Renold as an insurance
policy that you have to buy only once.

Your oil pressure depends on this valve.  If the spring wears thin or if other
components become worn, your oil pressure will be affected even on a brand new
